Gac, The Asian treasure contains lots of antioxidants for your health.

A report was written on Vietnam Gac fruit , with the title "Gac, Asian treasure teeming contain antioxidants, for your health" by American Journal of Health.

“The nutrion world has understood the new trend and called the nutrient-rich foods like Gac super foods and super fruits. I prefer the term functional foods as what they are,  helpingour bodies work in the way we need." Fisrt said Mike Filon, who has written hundreds of articles about health , medicine and science. 

The human eye is an amazing machine with the complex structure and functions. The visualizing process does not take place if the eyes are not supplied enough nutrition. Some foods is more important for eyesight compared to others, and it Gac seems to be born toespecially benefit the eyes. It is rich in vitamin A and organic substances such as beta-carotene, zeaxanthin and lutein, which  are absolutely essential for good health and activity of the eye. 

Glaucoma occurs when aqueous accumulates or not circulate well, causing increased pressure in the eye. This pressure has to be kept in the normal range to avoid damaging the optic nerves. If untreated, glaucoma graduallycause loss of vision and eventually blindness. If diagnosed and treated early, glaucoma can be controlled. In addition, proper nutrition and eating nutritious foods can be useful. Gac is particularly valuable for the eyes as it is rich in carotenoids like beta - carotene , lutein and zeaxanthin .

Recent research suggests that carotenoids in Gac have effectsin preventing the development of cataract patients. This disease can make glass blurry, leading to vision loss. Some scientific studies show that thoseabsorb two carotenods, lutein and zeaxanthin, can reduce the risk of developing cataracts. Lutein and zeaxanthin play  very important roles for eye health and may be the key in preventing major diseases of the eye , including macular degeneration . 

The Eye Institute of America said that macular degeneration was the leading cause of blindness for people over the age of 50 in the United States. Recent studies suggest that macular degeneration can be reduced or even prevented by increasing the supply of nutrients that have certain advantages. Another later study  examined the effects of two important carotenoids found abundantly in Gac, lutein and zeaxanthin. These carotenoids are indispensable activityoperators of the macula and peripheral retina. Without lutein and zeaxanthin , we could not see anything. Other studies showed that high concentrations of lutein and zeaxanthin in the macula leads directly reduced the risk of developing macular degeneration .

Finally, a recent study at Harvard Medical School discovered that zeaxanthin may protect the retina by absorbing blue light and acting as free-radicals-destructive eaters. That study also showed that zeaxanthin may protect against light damage and prevent death of stimuli cell which receiving light, a major cause of vision loss in macular degeneration . 

Other studies showed that lutein and zeaxanthin may protect blood vessels, providing nutrients to the macula and the rest of the retina . An important study which tested 90 patients with macular degeneration showed that the addition of this incredible carotenoids can improve visual ability in most patients. Certainly, these carotenoids are indispensable parts of any good diets for eyes, and a Gac can be the most efficient in the world. This tiny fruit from the Vietnamese villages  can be best friends of eyes.
